Computerization . . . especially the internet has drastically changed the world. The way we communicate, transact business, study and research have all but changed . . . it became better and faster.
The cyberspace has became the way to the future, to cope up with the fast changing world, one has no way of escaping the need to learn to use the technology to keep abreast of the modern times.
Course objectives:
1. Increase awareness in the use of internet
2. To develop knowledge and skill in order to operate web-based tools to search for jobs and basic needs such as communicating (eMail), current events (subicbaynews), learn on-line (basic cyber skills) and reseach (google)
Course details:
1st option (open class-room, online, distance learning where participants can learn at their choosen phase - either in the comfort of their home, in office, school libraries, internet cafes, or anywhere in the world where there is internet connection)
2nd option is by personally enrolling at the Skills Training Center, Gordon College, Olongapo City
Both options are being offered FREE thru the efforts of Senator Richard Gordon and Olongapo Mayor James "Bong" Gordon, Jr.
Its a two-week program where participants may avail of either the morning or afternoon session.
Who may participate and receive certification:
All Filipino citizens (dual included), there is no age limit, as long as you can read and interact (communicate in English) using a computer or web enabled cellphone. If participating on-line, obviously must either have basic computer skill or is being physically assisted by somebody with basic computer skill.
While the initial course can be completed in two weeks, this training program, once the participants have mastered the fundamental cyber skills, can continue with more advance lessons not only pertaining to Information Technology but also necessary skills to succeed in their chosen career.
